Just purchased a acer iconia w500 tablet pc.  It comes with windows 7 installed, but I am able to upgrade to windows 8 for a better touch screen experience.  I want to run kinovea on it.  Will I be able to run on windows 8?

I can't say for sure because I haven't had the chance to try Windows 8 yet.
However, I'm fairly confident that it will work. You will have to install the .NET framework 3.5 though, as it will not be bundled by default (they only ship .NET 4.0, not compatible).

It will not take particular advantage of the new touch features.
