I received this error message after I downloaded the latest release.

Kinovea.exe .net framework initialization error

Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application.

Please help

If I recall correctly this happens for systems with .NET 4.0 installed but not .NET 2.0 or 3.5.
.NET 4.0 is a completely different beast from the previous one and programs will not necessarily be compatible.

How can I revert back to a previous release of .NET?
