I am using version 0.8.15

I have an mkv file which has been changed to a mirror image in the left screen.

In the right screen is a 3GP file taken with a Blackberry Torch.

Both screens have been synchronized.  When I use the icon to save both videos to a composite video, only the 3GP file is visible in the composite video.  The left hand side of the video is a black rectangle.

I expected both videos to be visible.

I had the same problem because of the mirrorimage.

I tried various combinations but I couldn't reproduce the issue. Whatever I do, the mirrored video in the dual file exported is fine. Is there any specifc context I am missing ?

One bug I stumbled upon, when saving a single video with the mirror option, it's not mirrored.

That's a good question.  I guess I will see if I can reproduce it again with something else.
