List of menu commands

File
Open Video File… Allows you to choose a video file on your hard drive and play it.
Recent Lists previously opened videos.
Close [file] Closes the specified video and its container screen.
Save… Allows you to save the working zone to a file or save the key images data. (See Saving videos).
Export to Spreadsheet Allows you to save analysis data in spreadsheet formats. (See Exporting data to spreadsheet).
Load Key Images Data… Allows you to import drawings and comments from a .KVA file. (See Saving/Loading and Sharing analysis data).
Quit Closes Kinovea.
Edit
Undo [command] Cancels the last command.
Redo [command] Redo the last canceled command.
View
File Explorer Shows or hides the file explorer panel.
One Playback Screen Organizes the workspace to display a Playback screen. (See Watching Videos).
Two Playback Screens Organizes the workspace to display two Playback screens. (See Comparing and synchronizing two videos).
One Capture Screen Organizes the workspace to display one Capture screen. (See Using the capture screen).
Two Capture Screens Organizes the workspace to display Two Capture screens.
One Capture screen and one Playback Screen Organizes the workspace to display mixed screens.
Invert Videos Positions Swap the video screens.
Show / Hide Common Controls Shows or hides the common controls panel when two screens are displayed.
Image
Deinterlace Remove interlacing artifacts on interlaced videos. (See Deinterlacing and Forcing image aspect ratio).
Image format Lets you force the image aspect ratio when Kinovea fails to detect it properly. (See Deinterlacing and Forcing image aspect ratio).
Mirror Flips video horizontally. (See Mirroring Images).
Auto Levels Allows you to correct color levels in the video. (See Adjusting image quality).
Auto Contrast Allows you to correct contrast in the video. (See Adjusting image quality).
Sharpen Allows you to enhance edges visibility in the video. (See Adjusting image quality).
Observational Reference Access to sub menus to load a reference drawing or image in the video. (See Using and creating observational references).
Grid Overlay a flat grid on the video. (See Using overlay grids).
Perspective Grid Overlay a grid in 3D space, to be mapped on plane of the scene in the video. (See Using overlay grids).
Coordinate System Origin Allows you to locate the origin of the coordinate system that will be used for spreadsheet export.
Motion
Overview Displays the video as a series of images. (See Summarizing videos with the Overview function).
Reverse Invert the order of images in the video. (See Playing motion backward with Reverse).
Options
Language Changes interface language. (See Changing the interface language).
Time markers format Changes time representation.
Software update… Checks for updates and allows you to download them. (See Checking if updates are available).
Preferences… Launches the full Preferences dialog to tweak settings. (See Changing Preferences).
Help
Kinovea Help… Displays user manual.
Video Tutorials… Displays an introduction video.
Open log folder Open the folder where Kinovea saves debugging and error informations. (See Reporting bugs).
